For Several Holy Enlighteners
Common Service for the Commemoration of All the Saints · printed p.608 (PDF 624)
The footer where the reading is printed words it differently: “Commemoration of Holy Enlighteners”. Both are the book’s own.
Epistle
Chant
The Commons service — the class’s own, not the day’s. Sung where the day prints no propers of its own: 2 of the 18 dated days below. 16 print their own propers, and those are what is sung.
Precious in the sight of the Lord / is the death of His Saints!
Verse: What shall I render to the Lord for all His bounty to me?
Verse: Thy priests shall clothe themselves with righteousness, and Thy Saints shall rejoice!
The righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. He shall not fear evil tidings.
Where these Epistles are read — 18
Reading a class’s Epistle is not the same as belonging to the class. The Apostol appoints §233 on 18 August because that day’s service is copied from December 10, not because Florus and Laurus are Confessors.
