Epistle

§ 213Galatians 5:22-6:2

Chant

The Commons service — the class’s own, not the day’s. Sung where the day prints no propers of its own: 10 of the 58 dated days below. 48 print their own propers, and those are what is sung.

Prokeimenon, Tone 7

Precious in the sight of the Lord / is the death of His Saints!

Verse: What shall I render to the Lord for all His bounty to me?

Alleluia, Tone 6

Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in His commandments.

Verse: His seed shall be mighty in the land.

Communion Hymn

The righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. He shall not fear evil tidings.

Where these Epistles are read — 61

Reading a class’s Epistle is not the same as belonging to the class. The Apostol appoints §233 on 18 August because that day’s service is copied from December 10, not because Florus and Laurus are Confessors.
