Epistle

§ 2922 Timothy 2:1-10

Chant

The Commons service — the class’s own, not the day’s. Sung where the day prints no propers of its own: 2 of the 17 dated days below. 15 print their own propers, and those are what is sung.

Prokeimenon, Tone 7

The righteous one shall rejoice in the Lord / and shall set his hope on Him.

Verse: Hear my voice, O God, when I pray unto Thee!

Alleluia, Tone 4

The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree and shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

Verse: They that are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.

Communion Hymn

The righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. He shall not fear evil tidings.

Where these Epistles are read — 17

Reading a class’s Epistle is not the same as belonging to the class. The Apostol appoints §233 on 18 August because that day’s service is copied from December 10, not because Florus and Laurus are Confessors.
