Epistle

§ 334Hebrews 13:7-16

Chant

The Commons service — the class’s own, not the day’s. Sung where the day prints no propers of its own: 1 of the 9 dated days below. 8 print their own propers, and those are what is sung.

Prokeimenon, Tone 7

Let the Saints exult in the Lord / let them sing for joy on their couches.

Verse: Sing to the Lord a new song; His praise in the assembly of the Saints.

Alleluia, Tone 2

Verse: Thy priests shall clothe themselves with righteousness, and Thy Saints shall rejoice!

Communion Hymn

The righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. He shall not fear evil tidings.

Where these Epistles are read — 10

Reading a class’s Epistle is not the same as belonging to the class. The Apostol appoints §233 on 18 August because that day’s service is copied from December 10, not because Florus and Laurus are Confessors.
