1 Corinthians 1:26–29 (Saturday after Elevation) § 125ctr
Saturday after Elevation
Brethren, you see your calling, that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to confound the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to confound the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised, God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence...
1 Corinthians 2:6–9
§ 126
1 Corinthians 2:6–9 § 126
Brethren, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this world, who are doomed to pass away. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages unto our glory; which none of the rulers of this world knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him.”
John 8.21-30 (Saturday after Elevation) § 30
Saturday after Elevation
Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.
Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come.
ἔλεγον οὖν οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι· μήτι ἀποκτενεῖ ἑαυτόν, ὅτι λέγει, ὅπου ἐγὼ ὑπάγω, ὑμεῖς οὐ δύνασθε ἐλθεῖν;
Глаго́лахꙋ ᲂу҆̀бо і҆ꙋде́є: є҆да̀ сѧ̀ са́мъ ᲂу҆бїе́тъ, ꙗ҆́кѡ гл҃етъ: а҆́може а҆́зъ и҆дꙋ̀, вы̀ не мо́жете прїитѝ;
And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning.
I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.
They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.
Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
As he spake these words, many believed on him.
Luke 4.31-36
§ 15
Luke 4.31-36 § 15
And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.
And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.
And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,
Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.
And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.
And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.
καὶ ἐγένετο θάμβος ἐπὶ πάντας, καὶ συνελάλουν πρὸς ἀλλήλους λέγοντες· τίς ὁ λόγος οὗτος, ὅτι ἐν ἐξουσίᾳ καὶ δυνάμει ἐπιτάσσει τοῖς ἀκαθάρτοις πνεύμασι, καὶ ἐξέρχονται;
И҆ бы́сть ᲂу҆́жасъ на всѣ́хъ, и҆ стѧза́хꙋсѧ дрꙋ́гъ ко дрꙋ́гꙋ, глаго́люще: что̀ сло́во сїѐ, ꙗ҆́кѡ вла́стїю и҆ си́лою вели́тъ нечи̑стымъ дꙋховѡ́мъ, и҆ и҆схо́дѧтъ;
