Apostol § 126

1 Corinthians 2:6–9
Prokeimenon, Tone 3

Sing praises to our God sing praises / Sing praises to our King, sing praises!

Verse: Clap your hands, all ye people, shout to God with loud songs of joy!

Brethren, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this world, who are doomed to pass away. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages unto our glory; which none of the rulers of this world knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him.”

Alleluia, Tone 5

I will sing of Thy mercies for ever, O Lord; with my mouth I will proclaim Thy truth from generation to generation.

Verse: For Thou hast said: “Mercy will be established for ever, and My truth will be prepared in the heavens.”
