And it came to pass in the four hundred and fortieth year after the departure of the children of Israel out of Egypt, in the fourth year and second month of the reign of king Solomon over Israel, 1α that the king commanded that they should take great [and] costly stones for the foundation of the house, and hewn stones. 1β And the men of Solomon, and the men of Chiram hewed [the stones], and laid them [for a foundation]. 1γ In the fourth year he laid the foundation of the house of the Lord, in the month Ziu, [Niso (Rahlfs)]* even in the second month. 1δ In the eleventh year, in the month Baal, this [is] the eighth month, the house was completed according to all its plan, and according to all its arrangement.

δ ἐν ἑνδεκάτῳ ἐνιαυτῷ, ἐν μηνὶ Βαὰλ (οὗτος ὁ μὴν ὁ ὄγδοος) συνετελέσθη ὁ οἶκος εἰς πάντα λόγον αὐτοῦ καὶ εἰς πᾶσαν διάταξιν αὐτοῦ.

И҆ бы́сть въ четыредесѧ́тное и҆ въ четвертосо́тное лѣ́то и҆схо́да сынѡ́въ і҆и҃левыхъ и҆з̾ є҆гѵ́пта, въ лѣ́то четве́ртое, въ мцⷭ҇ъ вторы́й, ца́рствꙋющꙋ царю̀ соломѡ́нꙋ над̾ і҆и҃лемъ, и҆ созда̀ хра́мъ гдⷭ҇еви.

And the house which the king built to the Lord [was] forty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and its height five and twenty cubits.

καὶ ὁ οἶκος, ὃν ᾠκοδόμησεν ὁ βασιλεὺς τῷ Κυρίῳ, τεσσαράκοντα ἐν πήχει μῆκος αὐτοῦ καὶ εἴκοσιν ἐν πήχει πλάτος αὐτοῦ καὶ πέντε καὶ εἴκοσιν ἐν πήχει τὸ ὕψος αὐτοῦ.

И҆ хра́мъ, є҆го́же созда̀ соломѡ́нъ ца́рь гдⷭ҇еви, (бѧ́ше) шестьдесѧ́тъ лакѡ́тъ долгота̀ є҆гѡ̀, и҆ два́десѧти лакѡ́тъ широта̀ є҆гѡ̀, и҆ три́десѧти лакѡ́тъ высота̀ є҆гѡ̀:

And the porch in front of the temple-- twenty cubits [was] its length according to the breadth of the house in front of the house: and he built the house, and finished it.

καὶ τὸ αἰλὰμ κατὰ πρόσωπον τοῦ ναοῦ, εἴκοσιν ἐν πήχει μῆκος αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸ πλάτος τοῦ οἴκου καὶ δέκα ἐν πήχει τὸ πλάτος αὐτοῦ κατὰ πρόσωπον τοῦ οἴκου. καὶ ᾠκοδόμησε τὸν οἶκον καὶ συνετέλεσεν αὐτόν.

и҆ притво́ръ, и҆́же пред̾ лице́мъ хра́ма, два́десѧти лакѡ́тъ долгота̀ є҆гѡ̀ въ широтꙋ̀ до́мꙋ, и҆ десѧтѝ лакѡ́тъ широта̀ є҆гѡ̀ пред̾ лице́мъ до́мꙋ: и҆ созда̀ хра́мъ, и҆ совершѝ є҆го̀.

And he made to the house secret windows inclining inward.

καὶ ἐποίησε τῷ οἴκῳ θυρίδας παρακυπτομένας κρυπτάς.

И҆ сотворѝ хра́мꙋ ѻ҆́кна преклонє́ны сокровє́ны.

And against the wall of the house he set chambers round about the temple and the ark.

καὶ ἔδωκεν ἐπὶ τὸν τοῖχον τοῦ οἴκου μέλαθρα κυκλόθεν τῷ ναῷ καὶ τῷ δαβὶρ καὶ ἐποίησε πλευρὰς κυκλόθεν.

И҆ созда̀ на стѣнѣ̀ до́мꙋ притво́ры ѡ҆́колѡ хра́ма и҆ даві́ра.

The under side [was] five cubits broad, and the middle [part] six, and the third [was] seven cubits broad; for he formed an interval to the house round about without the house, that they might not touch the walls of the house.

ἡ πλευρὰ ἡ ὑποκάτω πέντε πήχεων ἐν πήχει τὸ πλάτος αὐτῆς, καὶ τὸ μέσον ἕξ, καὶ ἡ τρίτη ἑπτὰ ἐν πήχει τὸ πλάτος αὐτῆς· ὅτι διάστημα ἔδωκε τῷ οἴκῳ κυκλόθεν ἔξωθεν τοῦ οἴκου, ὅπως μὴ ἐπιλαμβάνωνται τῶν τοίχων τοῦ οἴκου.

И҆ сотворѝ бока̀ ѡ҆́колѡ, бо́къ и҆́же съ ни́зꙋ, пѧтѝ лакѡ́тъ широта̀ є҆гѡ̀, и҆ сре́днїй шестѝ лакѡ́тъ широта̀, и҆ тре́тїй седмѝ лакѡ́тъ широта̀ є҆гѡ̀: поне́же разстоѧ́нїе до́мꙋ сотворѝ ѡ҆́крестъ внѣꙋ́дꙋ хра́ма, ꙗ҆́кѡ да не досѧза́ютъ стѣ́нъ хра́ма.

And the house was built in the construction of it with rough hewn stones: and there was not heard in the house in the building of it hammer or axe, or any iron tool.

καὶ ὁ οἶκος ἐν τῷ οἰκοδομεῖσθαι αὐτὸν λίθοις ἀκροτόμοις ἀργοῖς ᾠκοδομήθη, καὶ σφῦρα καὶ πέλεκυς καὶ πᾶν σκεῦος σιδηροῦν οὐκ ἠκούσθη ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ ἐν τῷ οἰκοδομεῖσθαι αὐτόν.

И҆ хра́мꙋ зи́ждемꙋ сꙋ́щꙋ, ка́менїемъ краесѣко́мымъ нете́санымъ созда́сѧ: мла́тъ же, и҆ тесли́ца, и҆ всѧ́кое ѻ҆рꙋ́дїе желѣ́зно не слы́шасѧ въ хра́мѣ, є҆гда̀ созида́тисѧ є҆мꙋ̀.

And the porch of the under side [was] below the right wing of the house, and [there was] a winding ascent into the middle [chamber], and from the middle to the third story.

καὶ ὁ πυλὼν τῆς πλευρᾶς τῆς ὑποκάτωθεν ὑπὸ τὴν ὠμίαν τοῦ οἴκου τὴν δεξιάν, καὶ ἑλικτὴ ἀνάβασις εἰς τὸ μέσον καὶ ἐκ τῆς μέσης ἐπὶ τὰ τριώροφα,

И҆ двє́ри бо́ка ни́жнѧгѡ под̾ стѣно́ю хра́ма десно́ю, и҆ и҆звїе́нный восхо́дъ до среди́ны, а҆ ѿ среди́ны до трекро́вныхъ.

So he built the house and finished it; and he made the ceiling of the house with cedars.

καὶ ᾠκοδόμησε τὸν οἶκον καὶ συνετέλεσεν αὐτόν· καὶ ἐκοιλοστάθμησε τὸν οἶκον κέδροις.

И҆ созда̀ хра́мъ, и҆ совершѝ є҆го̀: и҆ ѡ҆бста́ви хра́мъ дска́ми ке́дровыми.

And he made the partitions through all the house, each five cubits high, and enclosed each partition with cedar boards.* [See Appendix ]

καὶ ᾠκοδόμησε τοὺς ἐνδέσμους δι᾿ ὅλου τοῦ οἴκου πέντε ἐν πήχει τὸ ὕψος αὐτοῦ, καὶ συνέσχε τὸν σύνδεσμον ἐν ξύλοις κεδρίνοις.*

И҆ сотворѝ вѧза̑нїѧ ѡ҆́крестъ всегѡ̀ хра́ма, пѧ́ть лакѡ́тъ въ высотꙋ̀ є҆гѡ̀, и҆ свѧза̀ вѧза́нїе дре́вомъ ке́дровымъ.

And he framed the walls of the house within with cedar boards, from the floor of the house and on to the inner walls and to the beams: he lined the parts enclosed with boards within, and compassed the inward parts of the house with planks of fir.

καὶ ᾠκοδόμησε τοὺς τοίχους τοῦ οἴκου ἔσωθεν διὰ ξύλων κεδρίνων ἀπὸ τοῦ ἐδάφους τοῦ οἴκου καὶ ἕως τῶν τοίχων καὶ ἕως τῶν δοκῶν· ἐκοιλοστάθμησε συνεχόμενα ξύλοις ἔσωθεν καὶ περιέσχε τὸ ἔσω τοῦ οἴκου ἐν πλευραῖς πευκίναις.

И҆ созда̀ стѣ́ны хра́мꙋ внꙋ́трь дре́вомъ ке́дровымъ, ѿ землѝ хра́ма и҆ да́же до стѣ́нъ и҆ да́же до верха̀: ѡ҆́колѡ ѡ҆бста́ви содержа̑щаѧ древа́ми внꙋтрьꙋ́дꙋ и҆ ᲂу҆крѣпѝ внꙋ́трь хра́ма бока́ми пе́ѵговыми.

And he built the twenty cubits from the top of the wall, one side from the floor to the beams, and he made it from the oracle to the most holy place. 17α And the temple was forty cubits [in extent], **

καὶ ᾠκοδόμησε τοὺς εἴκοσι πήχεις ἀπ᾿ ἄκρου τοῦ τοίχου τὸ πλευρὸν τὸ ἓν ἀπὸ τοῦ ἐδάφους ἕως τῶν δοκῶν, καὶ ἐποίησε ἐκ τοῦ δαβὶρ εἰς τὸ ἅγιον τῶν ἁγίων.

И҆ созда̀ два́десѧти лакѡ́тъ ѿ кра́ѧ стѣны̀ бо́къ є҆ди́нъ ѿ землѝ да́же до верха̀: и҆ сотворѝ є҆мꙋ̀ внꙋ́трь ѿ даві́ра стѣ́нꙋ до ст҃а̑ѧ ст҃ы́хъ.

in front of the oracle in the midst of the house within, [in order] to put there the ark of the covenant of the Lord. 20α The length [was] twenty cubits, and the breadth [was] twenty cubits, and the height of it was twenty cubits. And he covered it with perfect gold, and he made an altar *** 20β 21α 21β 21γ in front of the oracle, and covered it with gold. 22α And he covered the whole house with gold, till he had finished [gilding] the whole house; ****22β [See Appendix ]

κατὰ πρόσωπον τοῦ δαβὶρ ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ οἴκου ἔσωθεν δοῦναι ἐκεῖ τὴν κιβωτὸν διαθήκης Κυρίου.

Пред̾ лице́мъ даві́ра, посредѣ̀ хра́ма внꙋ́трь ᲂу҆гото́ва поста́вити та́мѡ кївѡ́тъ завѣ́та гдⷭ҇нѧ.

And he made in the oracle two cherubs of ten cubits measured size.

καὶ ἐποίησεν ἐν τῷ δαβὶρ δύο Χερουβὶμ δέκα πήχεων μέγεθος ἐσταθμωμένον.

И҆ сотворѝ въ даві́рѣ два̀ херꙋві̑ма ѿ дре́въ кѷпарі́сныхъ, де́сѧть лакѡ́тъ мѣ́рою вели́чество:

24

And the wing of one cherub was five cubits, and his other wing was five cubits; ten cubits from the tip of one wing to the tip of the other wing.

καὶ πέντε πήχεων πτερύγιον τοῦ Χερουβὶμ τοῦ ἑνὸς καὶ πέντε πήχεων πτερύγιον αὐτοῦ τὸ δεύτερον, ἐν πήχει δέκα ἀπὸ μέρους πτερυγίου αὐτοῦ εἰς μέρος πτερυγίου αὐτοῦ·

и҆ пѧтѝ лакѡ́тъ крило̀ херꙋві́ма є҆ди́нагѡ, и҆ пѧтѝ лакѡ́тъ крило̀ є҆гѡ̀ второ́е, десѧтѝ лакѡ́тъ ѿ кра́ѧ крила̀ є҆гѡ̀ до кра́ѧ крила̀ є҆гѡ̀:

25

Thus it was with the other cherub, both were alike finished with one measure.

οὕτως τῷ Χερουβὶμ τῷ δευτέρῳ, ἐν μέτρῳ ἑνὶ συντέλεια μία ἀμφοτέροις.

и҆ десѧтѝ лакѡ́тъ та́кожде (мѣ́ра) херꙋві́мꙋ второ́мꙋ, мѣ́ра є҆ди́на соверше́нїе є҆ди́но ѻ҆бои́мъ херꙋві́мѡмъ:

26

And the height of the one cherub [was] ten cubits, and so [was it] with the second cherub.

καὶ τὸ ὕψος τοῦ Χεροὺβ τοῦ ἑνὸς δέκα ἐν πήχει, καὶ οὕτω τῷ Χεροὺβ τῷ δευτέρῳ.

и҆ высота̀ херꙋві́ма є҆ди́нагѡ де́сѧть лакѡ́тъ, та́кожде и҆ второ́мꙋ херꙋві́мꙋ.

27

And both the cherubs [were] in the midst of the innermost part of the house; and they spread out their wings, and one wing touched the wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings in the midst of the house touched each other.

καὶ ἀμφότερα τὰ Χερουβὶμ ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ ἐσωτάτου· καὶ διεπέτασε τὰς πτέρυγας αὐτῶν, καὶ ἥπτετο πτέρυξ μία τοῦ τοίχου, καὶ πτέρυξ Χεροὺβ τοῦ δευτέρου ἥπτετο τοῦ τοίχου τοῦ δευτέρου, καὶ αἱ πτέρυγες αὐτῶν ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ οἴκου ἥπτοντο πτέρυξ πτέρυγος.

И҆ поста́ви ѻ҆́ба херꙋві̑ма посредѣ̀ хра́ма внꙋ́треннѧгѡ: и҆ простира́хꙋ кри́ла своѧ̑, и҆ досѧза́ше крило̀ є҆ди́но до стѣны̀ хра́ма, и҆ крило̀ дрꙋга́гѡ херꙋві́ма досѧза́ше до стѣны̀ вторы́ѧ: и҆ кри́ла и҆́хъ ꙗ҆̀же бѧ́хꙋ посредѣ̀ хра́ма, каса́шесѧ крило̀ съ крило́мъ:

And he covered the cherubs with gold.

καὶ περιέσχε τὰ Χερουβὶμ χρυσίῳ.

и҆ ѡ҆б̾ѧ̑ты бы́ша херꙋві́мы зла́томъ.

29

He graved all the walls of the house round about with the graving of cherubs, and [he sculptured] palm trees within and without [the house].

καὶ πάντας τοὺς τοίχους τοῦ οἴκου κύκλῳ ἐγκολαπτὰ ἔγραψε γραφίδι Χερουβίμ, καὶ φοίνικες τῷ ἐσωτέρῳ καὶ τῷ ἐξωτέρῳ.

И҆ на всѣ́хъ стѣна́хъ хра́ма ѡ҆́колѡ ваѧ̑нїѧ написа̀ подо́бїемъ херꙋві́мѡвъ, и҆ фі́нїки, и҆ и҆зва̑ѧнна произница̑ющаѧ внꙋтрьꙋ́дꙋ и҆ внѣꙋ́дꙋ.

30

And he covered the floor of the house within and without with gold.

καὶ τὸ ἔδαφος τοῦ οἴκου περιέσχε χρυσίῳ, τοῦ ἐσωτάτου καὶ τοῦ ἐξωτάτου.

И҆ помо́стъ хра́ма и҆з̾ внꙋтрьꙋ́дꙋ и҆ внѣꙋ́дꙋ ѡ҆б̾ѧ́тъ зла́томъ.

31

And for the door-way of the oracle he made doors of juniper wood, [there were] porches in a four-fold way.

καὶ τῷ θυρώματι τοῦ δαβὶρ ἐποίησε θύρας ξύλων ἀρκευθίνων εἰς φλιὰς πενταπλᾶς

И҆ вхо́дꙋ даві́ра сотворѝ двє́ри ѿ дре́въ сме́рчїихъ, и҆ пра́ги пѧтери̑чны,

32

So [he made] two doors of olive-wood; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubim and palm-trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold; and he spread the gold upon the cherubim, and upon the palm-trees.

καὶ δύο θύρας ξύλων πευκίνων καὶ ἐγκολαπτὸν ἐπ᾿ αὐτῶν ἐγκεκολαμμένα Χερουβὶμ καὶ φοίνικας καὶ πέταλα διαπεπετασμένα· καὶ περιέσχε χρυσίῳ καὶ κατέβαινεν ἐπὶ τὰ Χερουβὶμ καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς φοίνικας τὸ χρυσίον.

и҆ дво́и двє́ри ѿ дре́въ пе́ѵговыхъ, и҆ и҆зваѧ̑нїѧ на ни́хъ и҆зва̑ѧна, херꙋві́мы, и҆ фі́нїки, и҆ дщи̑цы простє́ртыѧ, и҆ ѡ҆б̾ѧ́тъ ѧ҆̀ зла́томъ, и҆ бѧ́ше зла́томъ ᲂу҆стро́ено до херꙋві́мѡвъ и҆ до фі́нїкѡвъ.

33

So also made he for the entrance of the temple door-posts of olive-wood, out of a fourth part [of the wall];

καὶ οὕτως ἐποίησε τῷ πυλῶνι τοῦ ναοῦ, φλιαὶ ξύλων ἀρκευθίνων, στοαὶ τετραπλῶς.

И҆ та́кѡ сотворѝ вратѡ́мъ хра́ма: и҆ пра́ги ѿ дре́въ сме́рчїихъ, притво́ры четверогꙋ́бѡ.

34

In both the doors [were] planks of fir; the one door had two leaves and their hinges, and the other door had two leaves and turned [on hinges],

καὶ ἐν ἀμφοτέραις ταῖς θύραις ξύλα πεύκινα· δύο πτυχαὶ ἡ θύρα ἡ μία καὶ στροφεῖς αὐτῶν, καὶ δύο πτυχαὶ ἡ θύρα ἡ δευτέρα, στρεφόμενα·

И҆ на ѻ҆бои́хъ дверѧ́хъ древа̀ пе́ѵгѡва: два̀ затвѡ́ра две́рь є҆ди́на и҆ верєѝ и҆́хъ, и҆ два̀ затвѡ́ра две́рь втора́ѧ враща́ющаѧсѧ въ себѣ̀,

being carved with cherubs, and [there were] palm-trees and open flower-leaves, and it [was] overlaid with gold gilt upon the engraving.

ἐγκεκολαμμένα Χερουβὶμ καὶ φοίνικες καὶ διαπεπετασμένα πέταλα καὶ περιεχόμενα χρυσίῳ καταγομένῳ ἐπὶ τὴν ἐκτύπωσιν.

(на ни́хже сотворѝ) и҆зва̑ѧнныѧ херꙋві́мы и҆ фі́нїки, и҆ дщи̑цы простє́ртыѧ, и҆ ѡ҆б̾ѧ̑тыѧ зла́томъ свѣ́шенымъ на и҆з̾ѡбраже́нїе.

36

And he built the inner court, three rows of hewn stones, and a row of wrought cedar round about, 36a and he made the curtain of the court of the porch of the house that was in front of the temple. *

α καὶ ᾠκοδόμησε τὸ καταπέτασμα τῆς αὐλῆς τοῦ αἰλὰμ τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ κατὰ πρόσωπον τοῦ ναοῦ. *

И҆ созда̀ дво́ръ внꙋ́треннїй: въ трѝ рѧда̀ нете́саныхъ, и҆ рѧ́дъ те́санагѡ ке́дра ѡ҆́колѡ.

And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying,

Καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος Κυρίου πρὸς Σαλωμὼν λέγων·

И҆ бы́сть сло́во гдⷭ҇не къ соломѡ́нꙋ, гл҃ющее:

12

As for this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my ordinances, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; I will establish my word with thee, which I spoke to David thy father

ὁ οἶκος οὗτος, ὃν σὺ οἰκοδομεῖς, ἐὰν ὁδεύῃς τοῖς προστάγμασί μου καὶ τὰ κρίματά μου ποιῇς καὶ φυλάσσῃς πάσας τὰς ἐντολάς μου ἀναστρέφεσθαι ἐν αὐταῖς, στήσω τὸν λόγον μου, ὃν ἐλάλησα πρὸς Δαυὶδ τὸν πατέρα σου

хра́мъ се́й є҆го́же ты̀ созида́еши, а҆́ще по́йдеши по за́повѣдемъ мои̑мъ, и҆ сꙋдьбы̑ моѧ̑ сотвори́ши, и҆ сохрани́ши всѧ̑ повелѣ̑нїѧ моѧ̑, є҆́же пребыва́ти въ ни́хъ, ᲂу҆твержꙋ̀ сло́во моѐ съ тобо́ю, є҆́же гл҃ахъ даві́дꙋ ѻ҆тцꙋ̀ твоемꙋ̀,

And I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.

καὶ κατασκηνώσω ἐν μέσῳ υἱῶν ᾿Ισραὴλ καὶ οὐκ ἐγκαταλείψω τὸν λαόν μου ᾿Ισραήλ.

и҆ вселю́сѧ посредѣ̀ сынѡ́въ і҆и҃левыхъ, и҆ не ѡ҆ста́влю люді́й мои́хъ і҆и҃лѧ.

So Solomon built the house, and finished it. ** 17β the innermost

καὶ ᾠκοδόμησε Σαλωμὼν τὸν οἶκον καὶ συνετέλεσε αὐτόν. **

И҆ созда̀ соломѡ́нъ хра́мъ, и҆ сконча̀ є҆го̀.

18

And the cedar of the house within was carved with knops and open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen. *** 20β of cedar 21a So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: 21β and he drew chains of gold **** 22β And all inside the oracle he overlaid with gold.

καὶ διὰ κέδρου πρὸς τὸν οἶκον ἔσω πλοκὴν ἐπαναστήσεις καὶ πέταλον καὶ ἀνάγλυφα πάντα κέδρινα οὐκ ἐφαίνετο λίθος.

И҆ ѿ ке́дра во хра́мѣ внꙋ́трь поста́ви плете́нїе и҆ дщи̑цы и҆ ваѧ̑нїѧ всѧ̑ ке́дрѡва: ка́мень не ꙗ҆влѧ́шесѧ.
