1

THERE is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Οὐδὲν ἄρα νῦν κατάκριμα τοῖς ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ μὴ κατὰ σάρκα περιπατοῦσιν, ἀλλὰ κατὰ πνεῦμα.

Ни є҆ди́но ᲂу҆̀бо нн҃ѣ ѡ҆сꙋжде́нїе сꙋ́щымъ ѡ҆ хрⷭ҇тѣ̀ і҆и҃сѣ, не по пло́ти ходѧ́щымъ, но по дꙋ́хꙋ:

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

γὰρ νόμος τοῦ πνεύματος τῆς ζωῆς ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ ἠλευθέρωσέ με ἀπὸ τοῦ νόμου τῆς ἁμαρτίας καὶ τοῦ θανάτου.

[Заⷱ҇ 96] зако́нъ бо дꙋ́ха жи́зни ѡ҆ хрⷭ҇тѣ̀ і҆и҃сѣ свободи́лъ мѧ̀ є҆́сть ѿ зако́на грѣхо́внагѡ и҆ сме́рти.

For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

τὸ γὰρ ἀδύνατον τοῦ νόμου, ἐν ἠσθένει διὰ τῆς σαρκός, Θεὸς τὸν ἑαυτοῦ υἱὸν πέμψας ἐν ὁμοιώματι σαρκὸς ἁμαρτίας καὶ περὶ ἁμαρτίας, κατέκρινε τὴν ἁμαρτίαν ἐν τῇ σαρκί,

Немощно́е бо зако́на, въ не́мже немоществова́ше пло́тїю, бг҃ъ сн҃а своего̀ посла̀ въ подо́бїи пло́ти грѣха̀, и҆ ѡ҆ грѣсѣ̀ ѡ҆сꙋдѝ грѣ́хъ во пло́ти,

That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

ἵνα τὸ δικαίωμα τοῦ νόμου πληρωθῇ ἐν ἡμῖν τοῖς μὴ κατὰ σάρκα περιπατοῦσιν, ἀλλὰ κατὰ πνεῦμα·

да ѡ҆правда́нїе зако́на и҆спо́лнитсѧ въ на́съ, не по пло́ти ходѧ́щихъ, но по дꙋ́хꙋ.

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

οἱ γὰρ κατὰ σάρκα ὄντες τὰ τῆς σαρκὸς φρονοῦσιν, οἱ δὲ κατὰ πνεῦμα τὰ τοῦ πνεύματος.

Сꙋ́щїи бо по пло́ти плотска̑ѧ мꙋ́дрствꙋютъ: а҆ и҆̀же по дꙋ́хꙋ, дꙋхѡ́внаѧ.

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

τὸ γὰρ φρόνημα τῆς σαρκὸς θάνατος, τὸ δὲ φρόνημα τοῦ πνεύματος ζωὴ καὶ εἰρήνη· διότι τὸ φρόνημα τῆς σαρκὸς ἔχθρα εἰς Θεόν·

Мꙋдрова́нїе бо плотско́е сме́рть є҆́сть, а҆ мꙋдрова́нїе дꙋхо́вное живо́тъ и҆ ми́ръ,

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

τῷ γὰρ νόμῳ τοῦ Θεοῦ οὐχ ὑποτάσσεται· οὐδὲ γὰρ δύναται·

занѐ мꙋдрова́нїе плотско́е вражда̀ на бг҃а: зако́нꙋ бо бж҃їю не покарѧ́етсѧ, ниже́ бо мо́жетъ.

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

οἱ δὲ ἐν σαρκὶ ὄντες Θεῷ ἀρέσαι οὐ δύνανται.

[Заⷱ҇] Сꙋ́щїи же во пло́ти бг҃ꙋ ᲂу҆годи́ти не мо́гꙋтъ.

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

ὑμεῖς δὲ οὐκ ἐστὲ ἐν σαρκί, ἀλλ᾿ ἐν πνεύματι, εἴπερ Πνεῦμα Θεοῦ οἰκεῖ ἐν ὑμῖν. εἰ δέ τις Πνεῦμα Χριστοῦ οὐκ ἔχει, οὗτος οὐκ ἔστιν αὐτοῦ.

Вы́ же нѣ́сте во пло́ти, но въ дꙋ́сѣ, поне́же дх҃ъ бж҃їй живе́тъ въ ва́съ. А҆́ще же кто̀ дх҃а хрⷭ҇то́ва не и҆́мать, се́й нѣ́сть є҆гѡ́въ.

And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

εἰ δὲ Χριστὸς ἐν ὑμῖν, τὸ μὲν σῶμα νεκρὸν δι᾿ ἁμαρτίαν, τὸ δὲ πνεῦμα ζωὴ διὰ δικαιοσύνην.

А҆́ще же хрⷭ҇то́съ въ ва́съ, пло́ть ᲂу҆́бѡ мертва̀ грѣха̀ ра́ди, дꙋ́хъ же живе́тъ пра́вды ра́ди.

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

εἰ δὲ τὸ Πνεῦμα τοῦ ἐγείραντος Ἰησοῦν ἐκ νεκρῶν οἰκεῖ ἐν ὑμῖν, ἐγείρας τὸν Χριστὸν ἐκ νεκρῶν ζωοποιήσει καὶ τὰ θνητὰ σώματα ὑμῶν διὰ τὸ ἐνοικοῦν αὐτοῦ Πνεῦμα ἐν ὑμῖν.

А҆́ще ли же дх҃ъ воскр҃си́вшагѡ і҆и҃са ѿ ме́ртвыхъ живе́тъ въ ва́съ, воздви́гїй хрⷭ҇та̀ и҆з̾ ме́ртвыхъ ѡ҆животвори́тъ и҆ ме́ртвєннаѧ тѣлеса̀ ва́ша, живꙋ́щимъ дх҃омъ є҆гѡ̀ въ ва́съ.

Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

ἄρα οὖν, ἀδελφοί, ὀφειλέται ἐσμὲν οὐ τῇ σαρκὶ τοῦ κατὰ σάρκα ζῆν·

Тѣ́мже ᲂу҆̀бо, бра́тїе, до́лжни є҆смы̀ не пло́ти, є҆́же по пло́ти жи́ти.

For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

εἰ γὰρ κατὰ σάρκα ζῆτε, μέλλετε ἀποθνήσκειν· εἰ δὲ Πνεύματι τὰς πράξεις τοῦ σώματος θανατοῦτε, ζήσεσθε.

А҆́ще бо по пло́ти живе́те, и҆́мате ᲂу҆мре́ти, а҆́ще ли дꙋ́хомъ дѣѧ̑нїѧ плотска̑ѧ ᲂу҆мерщвлѧ́ете, жи́ви бꙋ́дете:

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Ὅσοι γὰρ Πνεύματι Θεοῦ ἄγονται, οὗτοί εἰσιν υἱοὶ Θεοῦ.

[Заⷱ҇ 97] є҆ли́цы бо дх҃омъ бж҃їимъ во́дѧтсѧ, сі́и сꙋ́ть сн҃ове бж҃їи:

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

οὐ γὰρ ἐλάβετε Πνεῦμα δουλείας πάλιν εἰς φόβον, ἀλλ᾿ ἐλάβετε Πνεῦμα υἱοθεσίας, ἐν κράζομεν· ἀββᾶ πατήρ.

не прїѧ́сте бо дꙋ́ха рабо́ты па́ки въ боѧ́знь, но прїѧ́сте дх҃а сн҃оположе́нїѧ, ѡ҆ не́мже вопїе́мъ: а҆́вва ѻ҆́ч҃е.

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

αὐτὸ τὸ Πνεῦμα συμμαρτυρεῖ τῷ πνεύματι ἡμῶν ὅτι ἐσμὲν τέκνα Θεοῦ.

Са́мый дх҃ъ спослꙋшествꙋ́етъ дꙋ́хови на́шемꙋ, ꙗ҆́кѡ є҆смы̀ ча̑да бж҃їѧ.

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

εἰ δὲ τέκνα, καὶ κληρονόμοι, κληρονόμοι μὲν Θεοῦ, συγκληρονόμοι δὲ Χριστοῦ, εἴπερ συμπάσχομεν ἵνα καὶ συνδοξασθῶμεν.

А҆́ще же ча́да, и҆ наслѣ̑дницы: наслѣ̑дницы ᲂу҆́бѡ бг҃ꙋ, снаслѣ̑дницы же хрⷭ҇тꙋ̀, поне́же съ ни́мъ стра́ждемъ, да и҆ съ ни́мъ просла́вимсѧ.

For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Λογίζομαι γὰρ ὅτι οὐκ ἄξια τὰ παθήματα τοῦ νῦν καιροῦ πρὸς τὴν μέλλουσαν δόξαν ἀποκαλυφθῆναι εἰς ἡμᾶς.

Непщꙋ́ю бо, ꙗ҆́кѡ недостѡ́йны стра́сти нн҃ѣшнѧгѡ вре́мене къ хотѧ́щей сла́вѣ ꙗ҆ви́тисѧ въ на́съ.

For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

γὰρ ἀποκαραδοκία τῆς κτίσεως τὴν ἀποκάλυψιν τῶν υἱῶν τοῦ Θεοῦ ἀπεκδέχεται.

Ча́ѧнїе бо тва́ри, ѿкрове́нїѧ сн҃ѡ́въ бж҃їихъ ча́етъ:

20

For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

τῇ γὰρ ματαιότητι κτίσις ὑπετάγη, οὐχ ἑκοῦσα, ἀλλὰ διὰ τὸν ὑποτάξαντα, ἐπ᾿ ἐλπίδι

сꙋетѣ́ бо тва́рь повинꙋ́сѧ не во́лею, но за повинꙋ́вшаго ю҆̀, на ᲂу҆пова́нїи,

Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

ὅτι καὶ αὐτὴ κτίσις ἐλευθερωθήσεται ἀπὸ τῆς δουλείας τῆς φθορᾶς εἰς τὴν ἐλευθερίαν τῆς δόξης τῶν τέκνων τοῦ Θεοῦ.

ꙗ҆́кѡ и҆ сама̀ тва́рь свободи́тсѧ ѿ рабо́ты и҆стлѣ́нїѧ въ свобо́дꙋ сла́вы ча̑дъ бж҃їихъ.

22

For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

οἴδαμεν γὰρ ὅτι πᾶσα κτίσις συστενάζει καὶ συνωδίνει ἄχρι τοῦ νῦν·

[Заⷱ҇ 98] Вѣ́мы бо, ꙗ҆́кѡ всѧ̀ тва́рь съ на́ми совоздыха́етъ и҆ сболѣ́знꙋетъ да́же донн҃ѣ:

And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

οὐ μόνον δέ, ἀλλὰ καὶ αὐτοὶ τὴν ἀπαρχὴν τοῦ Πνεύματος ἔχοντες καὶ ἡμεῖς αὐτοὶ ἐν ἑαυτοῖς στενάζομεν υἱοθεσίαν ἀπεκδεχόμενοι, τὴν ἀπολύτρωσιν τοῦ σώματος ἡμῶν.

не то́чїю же, но и҆ са́ми нача́токъ дх҃а и҆мꙋ́ще, и҆ мы̀ са́ми въ себѣ̀ воздыха́емъ, всн҃овле́нїѧ ча́юще, и҆збавле́нїѧ тѣ́лꙋ на́шемꙋ.

For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

τῇ γὰρ ἐλπίδι ἐσώθημεν· ἐλπὶς δὲ βλεπομένη οὐκ ἔστιν ἐλπίς· γὰρ βλέπει τις, τί καὶ ἐλπίζει;

Оу҆пова́нїемъ бо спасо́хомсѧ. Оу҆пова́нїе же ви́димое, нѣ́сть ᲂу҆пова́нїе: є҆́же бо ви́дитъ кто̀, что̀ и҆ ᲂу҆пова́етъ;

But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

εἰ δὲ οὐ βλέπομεν ἐλπίζομεν, δι᾿ ὑπομονῆς ἀπεκδεχόμεθα.

А҆́ще ли, є҆гѡ́же не ви́димъ, надѣ́емсѧ, терпѣ́нїемъ жде́мъ.

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Ὡσαύτως δὲ καὶ τὸ Πνεῦμα συναντιλαμβάνεται ταῖς ἀσθενείαις ἡμῶν· τὸ γὰρ τί προσευξόμεθα καθὸ δεῖ οὐκ οἴδαμεν, ἀλλ᾿ αὐτὸ τὸ Πνεῦμα ὑπερεντυγχάνει ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν στεναγμοῖς ἀλαλήτοις·

Си́це же и҆ дх҃ъ спосо́бствꙋетъ на́мъ въ не́мощехъ на́шихъ: ѡ҆ чесо́мъ бо помо́лимсѧ, ꙗ҆́коже подоба́етъ, не вѣ́мы, но са́мъ дх҃ъ хода́тайствꙋетъ ѡ҆ на́съ воздыха̑нїи неизглаго́ланными.

And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

δὲ ἐρευνῶν τὰς καρδίας οἶδε τί τὸ φρόνημα τοῦ Πνεύματος, ὅτι κατὰ Θεὸν ἐντυγχάνει ὑπὲρ ἁγίων.

И҆спыта́ѧй же сердца̀ вѣ́сть, что̀ є҆́сть мꙋдрова́нїе дх҃а, ꙗ҆́кѡ по бг҃ꙋ приповѣ́дꙋетъ {хода́тайствꙋетъ} ѡ҆ ст҃ы́хъ.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

οἴδαμεν δὲ ὅτι τοῖς ἀγαπῶσι τὸν Θεὸν πάντα συνεργεῖ εἰς ἀγαθόν, τοῖς κατὰ πρόθεσιν κλητοῖς οὖσιν·

[Заⷱ҇ 99] Вѣ́мы же, ꙗ҆́кѡ лю́бѧщымъ бг҃а всѧ̑ поспѣшествꙋ́ютъ во бл҃го́е, сꙋ́щымъ по пред̾ꙋвѣ́дѣнїю зва́ннымъ:

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

ὅτι οὓς προέγνω, καὶ προώρισε συμμόρφους τῆς εἰκόνος τοῦ υἱοῦ αὐτοῦ, εἰς τὸ εἶναι αὐτὸν πρωτότοκον ἐν πολλοῖς ἀδελφοῖς·

и҆̀хже бо пред̾ꙋвѣ́дѣ, (тѣ́хъ) и҆ пред̾ꙋста́ви соѡбра́зныхъ бы́ти ѡ҆́бразꙋ сн҃а своегѡ̀, ꙗ҆́кѡ бы́ти є҆мꙋ̀ перворо́днꙋ во мно́гихъ бра́тїѧхъ:

30

Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

οὓς δὲ προώρισε, τούτους καὶ ἐκάλεσε, καὶ οὓς ἐκάλεσε, τούτους καὶ ἐδικαίωσεν, οὓς δὲ ἐδικαίωσε, τούτους καὶ ἐδόξασε.

а҆ и҆̀хже пред̾ꙋста́ви, тѣ́хъ и҆ призва̀: а҆ и҆̀хже призва̀, си́хъ и҆ ѡ҆правда̀: а҆ и҆̀хже ѡ҆правда̀, си́хъ и҆ просла́ви.

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Τί οὖν ἐροῦμεν πρὸς ταῦτα; εἰ Θεὸς ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν, τίς καθ᾿ ἡμῶν;

Что̀ ᲂу҆̀бо рече́мъ къ си́мъ, а҆́ще бг҃ъ по на́съ, кто̀ на ны̀;

32

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

ὅς γε τοῦ ἰδίου υἱοῦ οὐκ ἐφείσατο, ἀλλ᾿ ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν πάντων παρέδωκεν αὐτόν, πῶς οὐχὶ καὶ σὺν αὐτῷ τὰ πάντα ἡμῖν χαρίσεται;

И҆́же ᲂу҆́бѡ своегѡ̀ сн҃а не пощадѣ̀, но за на́съ всѣ́хъ пре́далъ є҆́сть є҆го̀, ка́кѡ ᲂу҆̀бо не и҆ съ ни́мъ всѧ̑ на́мъ да́рствꙋетъ;

33

Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

τίς ἐγκαλέσει κατὰ ἐκλεκτῶν Θεοῦ; Θεὸς δικαιῶν·

Кто̀ пое́млетъ на и҆збра̑нныѧ бж҃їѧ, бг҃ъ ѡ҆правда́ѧй.

34

Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

τίς κατακρίνων; Χριστὸς ἀποθανών, μᾶλλον δὲ καὶ ἐγερθείς, ὃς καί ἐστιν ἐν δεξιᾷ τοῦ Θεοῦ, ὃς καὶ ἐντυγχάνει ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν.

Кто̀ ѡ҆сꙋжда́ѧй; Хрⷭ҇то́съ і҆и҃съ ᲂу҆ме́рый, па́че же и҆ воскр҃сый, и҆́же и҆ є҆́сть ѡ҆деснꙋ́ю бг҃а, и҆́же и҆ хода́тайствꙋетъ ѡ҆ на́съ.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

τίς ἡμᾶς χωρίσει ἀπὸ τῆς ἀγάπης τοῦ Χριστοῦ; θλῖψις στενοχωρία διωγμὸς λιμὸς γυμνότης κίνδυνος μάχαιρα;

Кто̀ ны̀ разлꙋчи́тъ ѿ любвѐ бж҃їѧ, ско́рбь ли, и҆лѝ тѣснота̀, и҆лѝ гоне́нїе, и҆лѝ гла́дъ, и҆лѝ нагота̀, и҆лѝ бѣда̀, и҆лѝ ме́чь; ꙗ҆́коже є҆́сть пи́сано:

As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

καθὼς γέγραπται ὅτι ἕνεκά σου θανατούμεθα ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν· ἐλογίσθημεν ὡς πρόβατα σφαγῆς.

ꙗ҆́кѡ тебє̀ ра́ди ᲂу҆мерщвлѧ́еми є҆смы̀ ве́сь де́нь: вмѣни́хомсѧ ꙗ҆́коже ѻ҆́вцы заколе́нїѧ.

37

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

ἀλλ᾿ ἐν τούτοις πᾶσιν ὑπερνικῶμεν διὰ τοῦ ἀγαπήσαντος ἡμᾶς.

Но во всѣ́хъ си́хъ препобѣжда́емъ за возлю́бльшаго ны̀.

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

πέπεισμαι γὰρ ὅτι οὔτε θάνατος οὔτε ζωὴ οὔτε ἄγγελοι οὔτε ἀρχαὶ οὔτε δυνάμεις οὔτε ἐνεστῶτα οὔτε μέλλοντα

И҆звѣсти́хсѧ бо, ꙗ҆́кѡ ни сме́рть, ни живо́тъ, ни а҆́гг҃ли, ни нача̑ла, нижѐ си́лы, ни настоѧ̑щаѧ, ни грѧдꙋ̑щаѧ,

Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

οὔτε ὕψωμα οὔτε βάθος οὔτε τις κτίσις ἑτέρα δυνήσεται ἡμᾶς χωρίσαι ἀπὸ τῆς ἀγάπης τοῦ Θεοῦ τῆς ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ τῷ Κυρίῳ ἡμῶν.

ни высота̀, ни глꙋбина̀, ни и҆́на тва́рь ка́ѧ возмо́жетъ на́съ разлꙋчи́ти ѿ любвѐ бж҃їѧ, ꙗ҆́же ѡ҆ хрⷭ҇тѣ̀ і҆и҃сѣ гдⷭ҇ѣ на́шемъ.
