Divine Liturgy

2 Corinthians 5:15–21 § 180
Prokeimenon, Tone 6

Praise ye the Lord, O ye children, praise the Name of the Lord!

Verse: He maketh the barren woman to keep hpuse, and to be the joyful mother of children.

Brethren, Christ died for all, that those who live should no longer live unto themselves, but unto Him that died for them, and rose again Therefore, from now on, we regard no man after the flesh. Even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no more. Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. And all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them, and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. For He has made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might made the righteousness of God in Him.

Alleluia, Tone 5

Their blood have they shed like water.

Communion Hymn

Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous! Praise befits the just!

Philippians 2:5–11 § 240 (Theotokos)

Theotokos

Prokeimenon, Tone 3

(Song of the Theotokos): My soul magnifies the Lord / and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.

Verse: For He has regarded the low estate of His handmaiden, for behold, henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.

Brethren, let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a servant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the Cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the Name which is above every name, that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, andf things on earth, and things under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Alleluia, Tone 8

Hearken, O daughter, and see, and incline thine ear.

Verse: The rich among the people shall pray before thy face.

Communion Hymn

I will recieve the cup of salvation and' call on the Name of the Lord.

Mark 1.16-22 § 3
16

Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

17

And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

18

And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.

19

And when he had gone a little farther thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.

20

And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.

21

And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.

22

And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.

Chapter 10

38

Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.

39

And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.

40

But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

41

And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

42

But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

Chapter 11

27

And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.

28

But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
